Denise Piper Reporter from Northern News

The first 28 employees of Kaikohe Berryfruit have started working on the 10 hectares of tunnel houses that will shelter its hydroponic raspberries and blackberries.
The company is a partnership between Maungatāpere Berries, Ngāpuhi Asset Holding Company and Far North Holdings, and one of the first tenants at Ngāwhā Enterprise and Innovation Park.
At its peak, 80 full-time staff and 120 seasonal staff will work at the orchard - which aims to keep staff happy with flexible hours and good pay.
