Meeting with Mayor Drysdale re dog registration fees
Hi Everyone, had a good meeting with the Mayor this afternoon and he took on board everything I had to say on dog registration fees and other matters and also the information in the document I had sent him prior to our meeting. I have decided in the interests of everyone, that an overall discount for Selected Owner Discounts should be applied rather than just a Gold Card Discount at this stage. It must be appreciated the Mayor has taken over the debacle left by the Commissioners. He is totally aware of the feelings of the People of Tauranga and more so after our meeting. With regard to only going with Selected Owner Discounts rather than Gold Card, more people are Guardians of dogs than just Gold Card holders so in fairness, this is why I am pushing for the Selected Owner Discounts. The will benefit everyone. Tauranga is still recovering from the Commissioners intervention and we must allow the Mayor time to sort this. He said that I had raised some good points which he has taken on board. There is a meeting tomorrow with Council members and further meetings are planned before the next dog registrations are due. The Mayor said that they planned to have this issue put out to the public for public consultation and it is in everyone's best interest to be part of this. I for one, will be attending any consultative meetings. I went into the meeting knowing that this will not be a quick fix but we have started the process which has trust me, been taken on board and taken seriously. Council will also be looking at the overall running of how the Pound is run and after meeting him personally, I know he will do this. Thank you Everyone for your support and I will continue to do everything I can for you.
Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑
Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.
We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
