Montre Restaurant.

Diane from Ōmokoroa

Hi all,
Does anyone know what type of shop, if any, is going in where Montre was in Omokoroa.
It has been empty for a while now, and I for one would love a roast takeaway type shop.
We had one in Auckland when we lived there, and it was great to be able to get a nice roast tea all made for you!!!
The closest one to here at present is in Bethlehem ,a bit fat to go and try to keep it hot until you get home.
I wondered about a coffee type cafe, but there is one going in the new block being built , so maybe that wouldn't do so well.
But with our retirement village here as well as a lot of new homes, the area is growing so much, I think a roast shop would do well there.
Guess we will just have to wait and see, watch this space!!!!!

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
