Burglary on Cambridge Rd - Tauriko
Hi just want to let you know that we were burgled on Thursday 6th Sept during the day. It was a single person and they stole all our jewellery, cash, canon camera, new eBike and portable speakers.
The police said it is the first time in 20yrs+ that Tauriko end of Cambridge Rd has been burgled so be-wary of anyone coming to the door looking for someone or something .. good chance they are scoping the property.. make note of any identifiable clothing or car rego.
The burglar is a professional, he left no traces apart from the mess in the house he created as he riffled through EVERY draw and cupboard looking for item he could carry.
I strongly recommend you revisit your security measures - locked windows will not stop this thief as he busted our window latches easy. Deadbolts and alarms may provide peace on mind..
If by chance you have seen someone or have ended up with article as described above we would appreciate contacting the police.
Dont think this will happen to someone else .. it happened to us !! Darren
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
