Bold vision for Dive Cres on Tauranga waterfront
The potential to transform Dive Cres has been revealed in an architect's vision for the northern end of Tauranga's downtown waterfront.
The plans have been given new momentum after the city transformation committee decided to demolish the old row of council-owned buildings opposite the Cargo Shed.
These plans for the development of Dive Cres involve finalising the deal to vest ownership of the 3400sq m strip of land on the seaward side of Dive Cres - from the boundary of Trinity Wharf hotel to Bobby's Fresh Fish Market.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
