Public warned after suspicious man at Mauao

Matt Shand Reporter from

There were reports of a man suspiciously on the summit of Mauao at Mt Maunganui this week.

Two women were at the summit on Wednesday between 7.30 and 8pm when a man began taking pictures of them on his cellphone, then followed them down the track.

Police received a report on the incident on Thursday morning and were making inquiries.

Senior Sergeant Mike Membery encouraged anyone who has experienced something similar on the mountain on Wednesday night to contact police.

"Police encourage anyone who is ever concerned for their own, or others, safety to contact us immediately," he said in a statement.

"Even if the thing you witnessed is no longer happening, please still call your local station and pass on your information, it could be useful to police in the future."

Contact police on 07 577 4300 or provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.

🪱🐦 When are you the most productive? 🌙🦉

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post has been diving into our daily habits, and research suggests being an early bird or a night owl isn’t just a choice—it’s biology! We all have that specific time when our brains finally "click" into gear.

This raises a big question for the modern workplace. To get the best out of everyone, should employers accommodate our natural body clocks? This idea is at the heart of the four-day work week and flexible scheduling movements.

We want to hear from you:
1. When does your brain "click" into gear?
2. Would a flexible (or shortened) schedule change the way you work?

How can our communities manage a drop in school funding without losing the "soul" of our local schools in the Bay of Plenty?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

New Zealand is seeing some big demographic shifts, and the reality is that shrinking school rolls are on the horizon 📉🏫

Since school funding and teacher numbers are tied to how many students are in the classrooms, our local schools might be facing some "belt-tightening" in the coming years.

Our question to you: How can our communities manage a drop in school funding without losing the "soul" of our local schools in the Bay of Plenty?
