A heavy rain watch is in place for Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne/Tairawhiti
What you need to know:
- Between 9:00am Thu 12 Dec to 6:00pm Thu 12 Dec, heavy rain is expected with localised downpours possible.
- Rainfall amounts may approach warning criteria in localised areas.
- Rainfall likely to ease from the west late afternoon.
- There is a low chance of upgrading this to a Warning.
