Trust Horizon, Light Up Whakatāne light festival
Using the darkness of winter, Whakatāne's annual festival will be held over ten nights from 28th July to 6th August 2023. The light festival will delight, with light activations and digital displays by both local and regional artists.
Art works will be installed in various locations encouraging visitors to walk amongst our parks through the town centre and along the riverside to enjoy and delight at the lighting and digital displays.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
