COVID Alert Level 4 - TCC update

Communications from Tauranga City Council

We are currently at Alert Level 4
and we're working through what this means for our facilities and services and will update you as soon as we can. But here's what you probably want to know now:

♻️ Recycling and waste collection
These will continue but assisted services are suspended under Alert Level 4. The transfer station is also closed.

👩‍👧‍👦Parks and playgrounds
Some park gates will remain locked and playgrounds will be closed.

People can exercise under Alert Level 4 but should avoid spaces where you cannot practice safe social distancing or come into contact with surfaces that may not be sanitised.

⛰ Mauao
As parts of the tracks up and around Mauao are narrow and people are not able to safely maintain social distances, it will be closed from 7am and kaitiaki will be on site to remind people not to use the tracks.

🐑McLaren Falls will also be closed to the public.

📞Customer Service Centre
The Centre will be closed but the call centre is available 24/7. You can reach them on (07) 577 7000.

📚Tauranga City Libraries
All our libraries are closed. If you have any items, please hold onto them for now. You wont accrue any late fees. There's also an extensive collection of eBooks, eNewspapers, eMagazines and more available through our digital library at www.library.tauranga.govt.nz....

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Emma’s wedding dress reveal tells a different love story

Bob Owens Retirement Village

A Valentine’s-inspired wedding dress show at Ryman Healthcare’s Logan Campbell Village is providing the perfect opportunity for residents to share memories of their romantic day.

But for Emma Muller, it has also turned into an opportunity to celebrate her late daughter Nicola, who died 19 years ago at the age of 37.
