July Update - Pyes Pa Playcentre
Welcome back to Term 3, nice to see the days starting to get longer and we are looking forward to the Magnolia trees blossoming over the next few weeks filling the area with a burst of colour.
We finished Term 2 with a creative Matariki evening celebration, sharing kai, making crafts and lots of music learning all about Matariki. We also had a lovely trip to McLaren's Falls, rugged up warm doing some bug exploring and scavenger hunting. As adults we tend to hibernate and not want to venture out much during the colder months, but our children still love the outdoors and they embrace the weather, so getting out and about is great.
We continue to have a number of our older children embark on their next journey to school, but with this it leaves a smaller amount of members at Playcentre. We would love some new families to join us, bringing in new ideas, inspiration and fun to our centre. We have a lovely relaxed and flexible culture and enjoy the beautiful rural surroundings and large outdoor play area. If you know of new families to the area, or families with young children please pass on the word and encourage them to visit.
Upcoming trips for Term 3 include Flip Out Tramp Park, a nature walk at one of our local parks and a visit to Te Puna quarry. There are still a few places left for our 'Wonder craft fundraiser' event on Sat 12 Aug at 10am - making some awesome fairy and elf creations. Don't miss out! www.facebook.com...
Finally we are sad to be saying goodbye to our amazing Session Supervisor Jules Rutherford, after 9 years involvement in Playcentre this will be her last term with us. So we are now on the hunt for an experienced Playcentre member who has a C3 to join us to help run our Tuesday and Friday sessions. If you are interested or know of anyone please let us know.
Come and join us Pyes Pa Playcentre, Sessions run from 9:30-12:00 Tuesday and Fridays. www.facebook.com...
