The Great InsectBot Mission Competition

Stem Wana Trust

Step into a NASA engineer’s shoes to design and create a robot, inspired from insects’ unique characteristics, with the capability of surviving on Mars. The competition is for rangatahi aged 10 to 16 years across Aotearoa.

The finalists will get the chance to go to Tauranga STEM Festival and present their InsectBot to a panel of judges. The competition winner will receive amazing “money can’t buy experiences” including a visit to Rocket Lab facilities as a VIP and other prizes will include a series of space and engineering themed experiences thanks to our generous partners. One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Wanted, chunky blocks of wood/offcuts no smaller than 10cm X 10cm, steel rods for an art installation. Example in image...

Hi neighbours, I am an artist and I am looking for chunky blocks of wood, offcuts, any wood but must be chunky , minimum 10cm cubed or larger. They don't need to be perfect, irregular shapes will be fine, any type of wood. Also I need steel rods.... eg: refer to image .
