Level 3 update

Communications from Tauranga City Council

Here's the quick update on Council services and facilities at Alert Level 3.

Although level 3 has lifted some restrictions, we still need to be vigilant to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (and avoid going back to Alert level 4).

Our focus is still on essential services and supporting the community. However, work that can be done while meeting COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will resume. That means:

🌻Maintenance and mowing will resume.

👷‍♀️Work on some projects will resume.

🚗We won't be collecting parking fees for now. But please, park safely and considerately.

👨‍👧‍👦Playgrounds and are still closed

⛰ Mauao is still closed. This includes the base track.

🚧Matapihi Bridge is still closed.

🗑Transfer station is closed to the public (working on it)

Also:

🏄‍♀️You can go surfing and swimming if you can already surf/swim.

🙋‍♀️You still need to maintain a 2m safe distance from others🙋‍♂️

❤️Keep being kind and considerate to each other.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
