Severe rain warning for the Bay of Plenty

MetService has issued a heavy rain warning lasting until 3am Friday.

Area: Bay of Plenty, and the Gisborne ranges including northern coastal areas from East Cape to Hicks Bay
Valid: 16 hours from 11:00am Thursday to 3:00am Friday
Forecast: Expect 100 to 150mm of rain about the ranges and 60 to 90mm elsewhere. Localised downpours of 25 to 40mm/hr possible about the ranges.
Changes: The Warning area has now been extended to cover all of Bay of Plenty.

Drivers are advised to be cautious as conditions may be hazardous. Read more
