Reality Check for 2017 Seminar

Taryn from Welcome Bay

Come and join the Real Team for an Educational and Inspirational Seminar on business and personal challenges. We have three amazing speakers who will be educating us on what challenges we can be faced with and how we can overcome these challenges before they become a problem.

Many of us dream of being our own boss where we can call the shots, work with dream clients and make lots of money and the freedom to live life to the full. For some that means going for a fish when the weather is great, taking time out with the kids to spend quality time or just doing things our way.

Then reality hits and it usually hits hard. Provisional tax is due but we have no idea how to calculate it or what we should put aside, we need new staff but what payroll or HR systems will make life easier or do we even need them?

Cash flow is all over the place and some clients are fantastic and pay on time whilst others need chasing every single month which wastes time and is incredibly frustrating. Keeping on top of GST and tax returns is an ongoing challenge and excel worked ok in the beginning but surely there’s more efficient systems to use.

We all have those family members or friends who say they can help out but does business and family really mix? Come and listen to Xero award winner and Bookkeeper of the year Janine Gartner CEO of Tax Agent 99 and learn how to stop the biggest challenges facing small businesses.

Another challenge to consider are your insurances, Mary Kater from Maurice Trapp Group will be talking about the challenges faced by the consumer in insurance. This process starts from being able to recall all information about your health; visits to the doctor, what was discussed, test results, surgeries, etc.

This is a very important stage of an application and can be vital in the event of whether a claim would be paid or not. Reality check have you got all your information up to date?

Mary will explore behind the scenes and educate on the underwriting process and how this is another area where it affects the consumer, as well as explaining exclusions, loadings and review periods and why it’s important to have an annual review.

Roberta Budvietas is our special guest for the morning. Roberta is a Business Consultant with an empirical approach to Leading and Managing People. Roberta will be talking about the importance of using serious play (directed play)to communicate and find solutions to challenges.

Lego blocks will be used to show how using kinesthetics combined with story-telling can improve communication and open ideas to find solutions that work for everyone involved.

This is an event not to be missed!

Tickets are $27 per person and includes three award winning speakers, morning tea and a Ebook filled with valuable information.

Booking is essential, only 16 seats available!

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
