Pay It Forward
Nanogirl believes that science is for everyone, and the Nanogirl Labs team work hard to ensure that tickets to our Nanogirl Live! events are affordable. Despite those efforts, for some New Zealanders, theatre shows like this are still very special events that do not fit within the family budget.

Through our 'Pay-It-Forward' programme, you can help make science and engineering accessible for everyone. For every 'Pay-It-Forward' ticket you purchase, you enable someone who would not otherwise have had the chance to see this live science spectacular to come along. Only available via the Regent Theatre box office.

Currently not working due weather circumstances. I have been supporting a cat colony for about a year and a half now. I am currently using my savings which I do not mind to buy cat essentials, medication, food etc but am running out. A while ago I was getting lots of donations from amazing people from neighbourly, fb and I started to support them by myself with the money I was making from working for a few months but Because I will not be working for a while I am running out of ideas and with financial help, Mum and nana have been helping me out also which I appreciate so much. This is a big ask for me but will anyone be willing to help me out with Cat food, wet food, dry food would be a bonus. I may be able to pick up locally in papamoa or you are welcome to drop it off and also see the cats yourself and have an understanding of what I do for them. I also have a few posters around. All the cats have been desexed and health checked. I also worm and flea them myself as it is hard getting a cat to the vet one by one. I am trying my best to keep these cats healthy, clean and warm as possible. I have a set up with beds in my garage so they are warm at night and during the day! Thank you all so so much for the donations I've had in the past and to show people what I do and how I look after these cats. ❤️ Not to sound so fussy but dry food (biscuits) would be a bonus. We have quite a bit of wet food ❤️ Thank you all again

They put me through to police who said they been out once and made 2 arrest but party carried on. And our government wants to give students more money for what so they can just keep partying causing a disturbance because they don't care about anyone but themselves.

People living with type two diabetes, accompanied by family members, are invited to attend a revolutionary, free, one day award-winning diabetes program, hosted by Diabetes Help Tauranga starting January 2018.

The DESMOND program, short for Diabetes Education Self-Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed is delivered by Registered Healthcare Professionals and Diabetes Educators, trained to guide participants to take control over their own diabetes.

“We are proud to launch this program” Debbie Cunliffe, Manager at Diabetes Help Tauranga said. “Participants can expect to learn real life skills for managing diabetes across many areas such as food choices, physical activity, diabetes distress and medications.”

Diabetes is the fastest growing chronic health condition in New Zealand and is set to become the number one burden of disease in New Zealand over the next 10 years. There are currently 241, 463 people known to have diabetes in New Zealand, 10, 391 of these are in the Bay of Plenty.

The DESMOND program is the only evidence-based education program for people with type two diabetes in New Zealand which emphasises that, for the person with type two diabetes their most valuable health resource is themselves. DESMOND was developed in the UK through strong evidence based research and tested by the largest global RCT into education provided at diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes (Davies et al 2008). There is evidence to show that better self-management of diabetes can result in significant and sustained weight loss, increased physical activity, improved general well-being and a better understanding of the psychological distress that can often accompany a diagnosis of type two diabetes.

For further information, or to enrol on a free DESMOND program in 2018 contact info@diabeteshelp.org.nz or ring the Diabetes Help Tauranga INFOline on 07 571 3422.
