The "feebate" scheme wouldn't cost the taxpayer anything, instead using money gained by putting a fee on imported high-emissions cars in order to make imported hybrids, electric cars, and other efficient vehicles cheaper with a subsidy.

Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing woman.

She was last seen on Friday morning, and is known to have been driving a black Porsche Cayenne.

Her hair is now dark brown/black, not blonde as pictured.

Police and the woman's family have serious concerns for her welfare, and are asking for anyone who has seen her or has information about where she might be to get in touch.

Jen joined NZ Avocado after a four-year diplomatic posting heading the New Zealand Consulate in Hamburg, Germany. She was charged with driving commercial success for New Zealand exporters in Germany, Northern, and Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey.

Before this, she spent seven years with Zespri, most latterly as Group Treasurer. In London, she became director of Barclays Capital following early roles with Unilever and IBM. These days, she and her family are happy to call Tauranga home.

Police are looking for an elderly man who has been missing from Tauranga for more than 24 hours.

The man last seen on Wednesday at 11.45am in Matua, police said in a statement. They have concerns for his welfare.
