Welcome Bay parks improvements

Communications from Tauranga City Council

It’s all go in Welcome Bay! 🤩

The playground upgrade and new 3x3 basketball court at Waipuna Park are complete, and the middle sports fields (northern end of the park) are getting better drainage and new training lights installed. Once this work is complete, cricket practice nets will be added. We’re also connecting up the existing footpath at the northern end of Kaitemako Road to the new pathway that leads into the playground.

A heads up that two access points to Johnson Reserve will be closed over the next few weeks for upgrades, including the Pelorus Street walkway which is getting a new fence, and the Meander Drive access which is getting a new concrete path and boardwalk.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
