Bomb fire
According to the council website there is a total ban on open fires in suburban areas. I would like to know how come my neighbor has lit a smoky fire next door to us? He has informed us that he has a permit, I see that can be done on line so where is there enforcement in this ban if anyone can over rule it what good is it? I had washing to put out and his answer is put it in the dryer. He was suppose to let us know and we were not informed. We have also had to close our house up as we have smoke and ash coming over to our property. Had many phone calls but no help as yet, the fire will be long out before anything happens.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
