Thank you Welcome Bay community for providing your feedback earlier this year on what improvements you would like to see take place at your local parks and reserves.

We’re kicking off the improvements with an upgrade to Waipuna Park, starting Monday 5 September. An accessible footpath will be installed, improving connections between the playground and the rest of the park, and to Kaitemako Road. We’ll also be installing a swing set, safety surfacing, picnic tables, a water fountain, a BBQ and a 3x3 basketball court.

Do you have a quality blanket you don't use anymore?

Sustainability Options are running a blanket drive for families they work with in cold, damp homes.

I feel like this winter has been tough. We have had long, cold nights, and weeks of rain, I have been freezing and live in a lovely home I can only imagine how hard this must make it for locals in homes who can't hold in the heat or keep out the wetness 🥶

Woolen or quality blankets are a great way to help a family snuggle up warm while the winter weather continues. But they are currently running low. If you have preloved blankets that have been tucked away in the hot water cupboard, wardrobe, or spare room, this might be the perfect opportunity to give them another lease of life!

📍Mount Drop Off
Trade Aid in Downtown the Mount
(they are supporting this drive)

📍Tauranga Drop Off
59 Seventh Ave
The Avenues, Tauranga
Monday to Friday
between 9am and 5pm
If the door is closed, leave them in a bag on the front porch :)
