UPDATE 7/05: the repairs are complete and water was restored around 1.30am this morning. If you experience any discoloured water this morning, run your outside tap for about 10 minutes to flush your line. If any problem persists, give us a call on 07 577 7000. Thanks!
Mon 6 May 2019:
We will be shutting down the water supply in Welcome Bay from 10pm tonight to conduct emergency repairs on a damaged water main. The shutdown will affect a large area of Welcome Bay, impacting about 850 properties. The streets that will be affected are available here: www.tauranga.govt.nz...
We'll work overnight to get the water back up by 5am tomorrow morning.
In the meantime please fill up a container for your use overnight if you need it, or make alternative arrangements if you require continued water supply. If you need additional drinking water, you can call us on 07 577 7000 to arrange this.
Thanks for your patience!
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
