Medication and Furniture

Michael from Pyes Pa

Did you know that certain medications such as common blood pressure tablets and also drugs such as Warfarin can severely damage your leather upholstery. The same damage can also be caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
We bought our very expensive lounge furniture about two years ago and my wife's chair (photo attached) is badly stained from a blood pressure pill.
This was not of course mentioned to us at the time of purchase which we think should have been done as this problem is commonly known in the furniture industry and warranties on furniture do NOT cover this type of damage. The chair in question has now been re-sprayed in a dark brown colour and we are hoping this problem will not reoccur but only time will tell.
If you are considering purchasing any lounge furniture in the future please be aware of this problem and steer clear of leather.
