It’s time for us to review our dog management policy and bylaw

These two documents make sure the needs of our furry friends are met, while minimising any danger or nuisance to the community. We’re proposing to keep most rules the same, but do have a few changes, like extending the dog prohibited area on Mount Main Beach 255m past Moturiki (Leisure Island). The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
