Lions BBQ Social Event

Barbara Sanders from Bethlehem Te Puna Lions Club

HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT OF BEING A LION? COME TO OUR BBQ TO MEET US!
Lion members are ordinary members of your local area that do extraordinary things to help others and build stronger communities.
As a Lions member you’ll join a local group of service-minded men and women of all ages who volunteer to support your community. You’ll also become a member of Lions International – a respected international organisation, a leader in your local community and a friend to people in need.

If you’d like to find out more about what our club does in the Bethlehem Te Puna area (also wider Tauranga at times), as President, I would like to invite you to our first social event of the year which is my President’s BBQ. A great opportunity for us to catch up as a club and welcome anyone who expresses an interest in joining us.

It is being held at Fernland Spa from 5pm Sunday 21st January. If you are interested in attending please give me a ring on 0211303805 or leave me a message here.

WE DO MUCH MORE THAN SIZZLE SAUSAGES!

Poll: Have you ever been bullied?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

People associate bullying with children in schools, but it can actually stretch beyond childhood to workplaces or neighbourhoods.

This Friday is Pink Shirt Day, which began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new student was harassed for wearing pink. People across the globe are now encouraged to wear pink on this day to take a stand against bullying and promote inclusivity.

Have you or your whānau ever experienced bullying? Share your thoughts on Pink Shirt Day below.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.
