We rely on external sources to inform us of dangerous and insanitary buildings – so we depend on occupants, neighbours, Fire and Emergency, Police etc. to contact us with any concerns. Why? We think using complaints – as opposed to sending staff to inspect each building/house in the city on a regular basis – is the most efficient use of resources. Have we got this right?
