Pukehinahina Summer Lecture Series 2023 - Treaty of Waitangi: He Tatau Pounamu
Each year we offer free lectures to help the community understand our city's history and how it shapes our present. This year we are offering three lectures.
The second lecture will be on Treaty of Waitangi: He Tatau Pounamu with Dr. Alistair Reese. Alistair is a well-known farmer, historian, public theologian and author who specializes in reconciliation work. He will be exploring the treaty through a reconciliatory lens so that we can understand its ongoing legacy today.
There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion at the end of each lecture.
A koha – donations will be collected at the door to help cover the costs.
St. George's Anglican Church, Gate Pā, sits on the site of the Battle of Pukehinahina - Gate Pā; one of the most significant events in the history of our city. We operate with the kaupapa of - let everyone who enters here be reconciled.
All lectures are at St. Georges Anglican Church,1Church Street, on the corner of Cameron Rd and Church St, Gate Pā, on the hill next to the Mega Mitre 10.
