If you are a Trustpower customer in the Western Bay of Plenty, you are eligible to vote.

I'd like you to vote for me.

Q: “Why Should We Vote Sheldon Nesdale Onto TECT?”

For 9 reasons:

1. Qualified. Sheldon has an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from Waikato Uni. Sheldon has run his own business consultancy since 2009

2. Diligent. Sheldon loves to read, he will turn up to every meeting fully prepared with all the required reading done

3. Future thinking. Sheldon has 3 young boys at home so he thinks about the future and the legacy we will leave behind

4. Leader. You may recognise Sheldon’s name from the events he has brought here: TEDxTauranga, Tauranga StartUp Weekend, The Dry Dock Breakfast Club

5. Not wealthy. Sheldon knows what it feels like when the TECT cheque arrives just in time to make a real difference to his family’s finances

6. Grateful. Sheldon knows what it’s like to run groups and events with little or no money and is grateful that TECT is able to support so many organisations

7. Public Service. Sheldon is an active volunteer and has put in 8 hours per week for 8 years into projects that serve and benefit the public

8. Considered. Sheldon does not leap to conclusions but reads available documentation and reports, and seeks out expert opinion before making a critical decision

9. Listens. Sheldon Nesdale has visited 6,780 homes in the Tauranga area to connect with residents and listen to their ideas and concerns

With cooler weather embracing the country, you may find you’re not getting out and about as much. So now is the ideal time to make sure your home is as fall-proof as possible.

The home safety checklist will give you practical tips on how to make your home safe. It covers how to avoid slips and falls in the home’s most used areas. For example, paths can get icy in winter, applying salt or sand to your path can help avoid any icy slips.

Having a fall can be upsetting. Those over 65 have a one in three chance of having a fall, while those over 80 it’s one in two.

The good news is falls are preventable. A new movement called Live Stronger for Longer is helping to reduce the risk of falls by providing practical information and free resources. We want to help you stay on your feet, and living the life you want to live.

Take the home safety checklist with your friends and family and join the movement today.

Proudly brought to you by ACC, HQ&SC, MOH and your local community health providers.

I'm inspired by the work of Make-A-Wish New Zealand and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in Walking for Wishes: Great Wall of China 2019. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Make-A-Wish New Zealand, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
- While getting ready for this great adventure to help raise money for Make A Wish New Zealand I have set myself the goal of running 16,000km. That is the length of the New Zealand coast line. I will keep on updating regularly so you know how I am doing, hopefully you will donate to this great cause and/or share this with as many people as possible.

Lavish Foods is holding another event on Wednesday 6 June at 5:45pam to 8pm at Bowls Matua, 108 Levers Road Matua - on the left just before Matua Primary School if coming from the east. Full bar service. Tickets kept to 50 people. Please RSVP to Lavishfoods8@gmail.com or phone Kathrin Chappell021 234 2120. Cost is $45 per person

A word or two from Kathrin
Hi my name is Kathrin Chappell and I intend to entice as many of the local Tauranga Foodies to embrace a simpler more natural food experience in their own homes. By offering entertaining
events centered on down to earth recipes made from the wide variety of products are available
in this area.
I have been a private chef for over 40 years and when I relocated to Tauranga 17 years ago,
was very disappointed we had so little variety of products available to us at all in the stores or
restaurants. It pleases me no end all the wonderful influences that have happens to our local
fare that I feel honour bond to spread the gastronomical word per say.
A former private celebrity chef "or hired gun" in Los Angeles for more than 20 years, Ms
Chappell wouldn't divulge details of clients, citing a "confidentiality agreement". But several
Movie legends and '80's Rock Stars are well acquainted with her food exploits from the past.

Having spent many years in Southern California I developed some great basic recipes that I

know would please the local Kiwi palate and therefore increase the selections of recipes in your
kitchens.
