Final Midday Concert for 2020

Chris Marshall Reporter from Taupō Times

Big band jazz concludes the midday concert series for the year in St Andrew’s Anglican Church.
The 15 member Great Lake Big Band last performed in Palmerston North in early November as part of the Manawatu Jazz festival and director Rowan Bolley was keen to return there next year as part of the Big Band Bash.
In the meantime local supporters could expect some swing favourites and a few more recent chart purchases.

As usual, said Bolley, there would be a couple of new and old Christmas tunes on Friday, December 4.

The hour long concert at 12 noon is $10 for adults, children and students free.

The midday concert series then takes a break until March 5, 2021.

For further information contact organisers Elizabeth Marshall (3789296), Tracey Lidington (0272409228), or see the facebook page Midday Concert for details.

Say goodbye to tyre waste

Tyrewise

About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Find out more about the scheme online.
