Records are being broken daily at Lake Taupō Hole In One Challenge, Taupō Parasail and Chris Jolly Outdoors, according to director Hayden Porter.

“Without looking at the figures in detail, we are definitely up on last year across the board, and last year was our best year so this one is even better.

And Love Taupō general manager Jane Wilson is expecting Taupō’s Christmas and new year visitor statistics - to be released next month - to reflect a bumper holiday season.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
