Truth, Nature and Self exhibition

Darren Petry from Taupō District Council

Tish Scott and Cherie Riley, self-professed free thinkers, explore the relationship of truth, nature and self in an upcoming exhibition at Taupō Museum.

With a friendship spanning over 30 years, Tish and Cherie will share their exploration of the complex beauty of connection in nature through the mediums of sculpture, paint and design.

“Cherie is influenced by nature - her designs flow soulfully around her circles of life. She uses her connection to nature and the relationship with self and expression throughout this exhibition,” explained Tish.

“For me, I’ve taken inspiration from the five years I’ve spent in the Rissington Hills area which allowed me to ponder the question - what are we? This has driven the creation of some other worldly creatures and landscapes,” she said.

“We encourage everyone to come along to the exhibition and immerse themselves in this holistic way of thinking – come and ask some big questions about who we are and where we’re from and what we’re connected to,” Tish said.

The exhibition will be in the Niven Room at Taupō Museum from November 2 to December 9.
