#BREAKING A serious crash has happened north of Taupō on Tirohanga Road.

Police have confirmed more than one person has died in a single-vehicle crash in Taupō District.
It was reported just before 7:40am on Tirohanga Road near Okama Road.
One person has been transported to Waikato Hospital by helicopter with serious injuries.
The road will be closed for some hours and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
