Lets hope you have voted, as time is running out!!!!

Brent from Kaiapoi

Thank you to everyone who has already voted..

Tomorrow is the last day to post in your votes...after that you can vote by popping your voting papers into the Council service centres in Kaiapoi and Rangiora etc

We live in an awesome district which is under pressure to deliver services to a growing population. Clean water, well maintained reserves, maintaining roads and footpaths, rubbish collection etc

Rates are set to increase by 4.3% over the next 10 years...meaning if you are paying $3500 this year in 2029 you will be paying over $5000.. is this affordable.

We need staff to be more accountable for spending... in the last 3 financial years Council departments have been over budget by $32.8 million.

We need a district that is vibrant and well promoted to encourage businesses to grow and flourish and employ more locals.

Vote for change with me "Community Comes First"

These are just some of my policies, visit brentcairns.com...

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
