Ovarian Cancer Research and Education
Hi friends and neighbours. I am on the home stretch with regard to my vision of New Zealand women having the best access to information and support all through their ovarian cancer diagnosis. The New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation have appointed me as an Ambassador for them. This is an honour I never saw coming! They have also agreed to stand behind my book project which addresses the significant health issue of ovarian cancer in all its forms. To achieve my aim I really need support from the public. I will be the only Kiwi attending this event and the value of this networking can not be underestimated. An extra $1000 will mean I can travel debt free. Please check out 5% Going Teal on Facebook and givealittle.co.nz... I will also be the South Island representative for the Foundation at this stage. Local girl made good. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. When I return I will have a speaking schedule so if you would like more information I am happy to visit your workplace or group. Arohanui, Catharine.
PS: Bears can be viewed for purchase at Quilters Quarters, Carpet Court Rangiora and Woodend Medical Centre. They are one of my fundraisers.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
