Resident joins Waimakariri Water Zone Committee rather than complaining about it
Watching his local river deteriorate over time was the catalyst for the newest member of the Waimakariri Water Zone Committee to step up to the job.
Flaxton resident Michael Blackwell has walked across the waterway at least twice a day for the past 35 years, and noticed the water quality slowly getting worse.
Blackwell said he decided to put his hand up to try to improve the situation, rather than just complain about it.
