Not just any daffodils, however. For me, there's one particular patch that heralds the arrival of lighter mornings and warmer days more than anything else.
And no, not the ones in North Hagley Park or along Bealey Ave. This patch is much closer to home.
There's a beautiful band of gold that appears every year on a gentle bend on Kingsbury Ave in Rangiora, outside one of the houses.
This bright and beautiful display, more than anything else, lifts my spirits and eagerly announces the arrival of the darling of all seasons.
Soon enough, the blossoms along the avenue and all over town will unveil their puffy gowns and the town will be a vision of growth.
I have no idea who the house or the daffs belong to, but from everyone who drives, walks, jogs or wanders past, thank you.
And to everyone whose gardens are about to become a feast of colour and scent, thank you too. We really are so very lucky with our little patches of paradise.
What's your herald of spring? Is it the blossoms? Your own blossom tree or bulbs?
– Shannon.

Hi, we're after an old quad or 3 wheeler that can be used to run round the paddocks, tow a small trailer for firewood.
Is there anything around? doesn't have to look beautiful.
Thanks
