If you have missed the collection or your bag is too heavy to be collected you can take it to the dump yourself at no charge. Or if you have several that you want to get rid of at once you can do the same. This is not so if there is only wheelie bin collection as in Chch. You can't take any black rubbish bags to the dump there. I, for one, want to retain the independence of being able to dispose of my bags when it suits me.

Anyone else in the area receiving scam calls to say your phone and internet service is going to be cut in 24 hours unless you press 1 to continue further? Obviously we hang up but very annoying receiving calls like this as caller I D shows up as a cellphone number.

This year's health warning for Pegasus Lake was issued by the Canterbury District Health Board on January 28, two weeks earlier than last year, after potentially toxic blue-green algae (planktonic cyanobacteria) was found.
A warning has been issued for the man-made lake every summer since 2014-15 and usually remains in place until April.
