Have you experience unfair cancellation terms?
Consumer NZ has lodged a complaint with the Commerce Commission, requesting it take court action against accommodation booking sites Airbnb and Bachcare for their use of unfair cancellation terms.
Consumer NZ chief executive Jon Duffy said some consumers had been denied a full refund for a cancelled booking, even though they were unable to travel due to lockdown.
"Even though they couldn’t use the accommodation, through no fault of their own, they were informed they wouldn’t get their money back. That’s plainly unfair," he said.
