Give our street trees a drink

The Team from Marlborough District Council

The dry summer makes life hard for our street trees. Watering is carried out regularly but the trees also appreciate a helping hand from residents.

Please keep an eye on the tree outside your place - if it’s looking dry feel free to give it a drink with a hand-held hose or a watering can either early in the morning or late in the evening. Using recycled water from the bath or sink is also a good idea.

If you notice a problem with a street tree, please contact Council on Ph: 03 520 7400.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
