Test drive Blenheim’s new parking meters

The Team from Marlborough District Council

New Pay by Plate parking meters are coming to Blenheim’s CBD mid-year.

A practice meter has been set up at the Council office at 15 Seymour Street. Come in and test drive the new system, anytime from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on week days.

The new meters are easy to use - you simply enter your plate number and time, press ok, pay, then walk away.

The ticketless system accepts coins and debit/credit cards and means there’s no need to return to your vehicle after you’ve paid.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
