Emergency management in the neighbourhood

The Team from Marlborough District Council

Hi neighbours – it’s Catherine and the rest of the team from Marlborough Civil Defence and Emergency Management here. We reckon there are lots of different ways to connect with people in Marlborough, so we thought we’d give Neighbourly a try (yahoo)!

Civil Defence is about you and me and our communities. Having strong and connected neighbourhoods make it much easier to be prepared for, and get through an emergency. We’ve all got skills and resources we can share, so get out there and talk about it! There’s lots of good information about what to do in an emergency, available through the Marlborough District Council website and the Civil Defence website.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Dehorners

Ron from Fairhall - Renwick - Woodbourne

SharpAs Tool Tips

Pictured is a set of dehorners brought in for sharpening. Like all cutting tools, a sharp edge is essential for them to work efficiently and cleanly.

Good to see that pain relief is now part of the process as well.

If you have tools, knives, kitchen utensils, or other items that need sharpening or repair, come and see me:
🔹 Redwood Market – Saturdays
🔹 Marlborough Farmers’ Market – Sundays
Or contact me directly on 027 444 5535.

Cheers,
Ron
