14 February: Important information for rural residents running low on tank water. Council locations where people can fill up on water for domestic use are at Warkworth Town Hall, Wellsford Community Centre, Helensville Library and Orewa Service Centre open today from 10am-8pm. People can take up to 20L of water per person in their household per day in handheld containers. Māori Wardens and council staff will be at each site to assist. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
