Do you visit Lake Horowhenua?

Hi neighbours, an activist has blocked access to Lake Horowhenua. Philip Taueki said the public loos were going straight to the lake and he was frustrated at the lack of urgency in implementing recommendations made by the Waitangi Tribunal in 2017. Should the board be doing more? What do you think about the lake's current state?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
