Tsunami Warning After 7.1 Earthquake for Great Barrier Island

A tsunami warning has been issued for Auckland's Great Barrier Island and the east coast of the north island.

People in the following areas must move immediately to higher ground:

Bay of Islands to Whangārei, from Matata to Tolaga Bay, and Great Barrier Island.

Civil Defence says you must move immediately.

Three earthquakes hit near the Kermadec Islands this morning.

These included a magnitude 8.0 earthquake, a 7.1, and a 7.4 earthquake.
