The Nukes Ukulele Trio QE Health rec Hall Rotorua 21 Nov 2020

Julie from Springfield - Tihiotonga

The Nukes, Aotearoa’s/NZ’s most beloved and enduring ‘original ukulele trio’. On the road again in the topsy-turvy year that is 2020, bringing joy and harmony to all they encounter.
This time they team up with local ukulele faves ‘The Thermaleles’ – it’s bound to be a night full of humour and great musicianship. Expect to have your expectations broadened …..because you’ll be surprised by what this wee little instrument can produce.

In their show the Nukes will be playing some old favourites from their back catalogue, such as ‘Lemon-tree’ and ‘Island Queen’ (and perhaps the odd request from the audience), plus a swag of new songs to introduce to fans around the country.

There will also be a special ‘limited- space’ workshop in which the Nukes will cover lots of fancy stuff, like interesting strums and chords, plus the joys of songwriting for the ukulele.

The Nukes are one of Australasia’s most successful ukulele/ folk acts with more than 10 years under their belts and 3 compelling albums as proof of their creative endeavours (and well in excess of 100,000 streams and views).

Don’t duck and cover, don’t try and be a hero…just gather all your friends and head for ground zero

Book now and ensure your spot as ticket numbers are limited.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
