Serious crash - Rotorua
A serious crash took place Monday evening in Whakarewarewa, Rotorua.
What you need to know:
- The crash that involved two cars and seven people was reported at 7.50pm.
- Four people have died and two people remain in hospital with serious injuries following crash on State Highway 5 on Monday evening.
- Three people died at the scene of the crash and one died in hospital after having been transported in a critical condition, a police spokesperson said.
- Two people remain in hospital, one in a critical condition and one in a serious condition. Police said one person was uninjured.
- Investigations into the circumstances that led to the crash were ongoing.
- At the time, SH5 was closed between Tumunui Rd and Waipa State Mill Rd due to the crash, according to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi.
