Parksyde was opened in August 2001 as an event centre for the 55+ age group and was one of the Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust's millennium projects. Parksyde is owned and operated by the Older Persons Charitable Trust and is the only one of its kind in the country.

Parksyde was opened in August 2001 as an event centre for the 55+ age group and was one of the Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust's millennium projects. Parksyde is owned and operated by the Older Persons Charitable Trust and is the only one of its kind in the country.

We are not a retirement village or a day care centre for the elderly but simply an Event Centre providing activities for the 55+ age group. No membership is required; a small fee is charged for each activity, but no children please. We have a full commercial kitchen catering for lunches and functions which is also available for hire.

Streetstock Grand Prix

Tonight and Saturday night. Take a regular Road car, install a roll cage and some safety features and you have a Streetstock. Put them on a speedway track and let them legally hit each other and you have the very entertaining Streetstock Racing. Starts 7pm, Paradise Valley Raceway.

Rotorua A&P Show

Head along to the show this Saturday and Sunday for loads of fun. 141 Western Rd, Ngongotaha. There's something for everyone so bring the family for a great two days of fun.

Ecomist Blue Lake Multisport Festival

This saturday and Sunday. Five different swimming events, including a kids triathlon, will be held on the lake on Saturday and Sunday. Find out more on the RATS - Rotorua Association of Triathlon & Multisport Facebook page.

Rotorua Summer Seafood Festival

This Saturday at the Soundshell and Village Green, Memorial Dr. Indulge in the variety of delicious seafood on offer paired with a glass of exquisite New Zealand wine. There's also an exciting line-up of local musical talent and relax beside the stunning Lake Rotorua.

Here's how to save and find posts:
1) Simply click on the SAVE button at the bottom right of a post you want to locate later. The button will change to 'Saved!'

2) To find the post, click on My Posts in the top green navigation bar (on desktop) and click on the All Posts dropdown menu. You'll see the option 'Saved Posts'

3) When you no longer need a record of the post, just click on the Saved button and it will disappear from your Saved list.

It's completely FREE to sell something on Neighbourly - plus you'll have a chance to meet one of your friendly neighbours. Here's a few tips and tricks to make your sale is a quick and easy one:
* Use good images to ensure your items really stand out
* Share an description of each item you are selling including details of its condition
* Add a price for your listing
* If you have multiple items to sell, group these into a single post and itemise the unique items you have for sale with their sale price.
* Once an item has sold, remember to mark it as SOLD (just click on the three little dots under your post)
* Consider listing an unsold item in the Free Stuff category if you're keen to see it moved along.
* Once a neighbourly has confirmed they'd like to purchase your item, share details using your Neighbourly Inbox
