Red Cross Shop Assistants Need for New Shop in Rotorua

New Zealand Red Cross Midland from New Zealand Red Cross - Midland Area

Rotorua Red Cross Shop Outlet is re-opening!

We are excited to be back with a new location, and we urgently need more volunteers to join our team.
We're looking for friendly, reliable people to help in shifts during our shop opening hours. These are from 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 9am - 4pm on Sundays.

Role description
Volunteer in a Red Cross Shop and support our work helping communities both here and overseas.

Our 50 shops across the country sell mainly second-hand clothing and household items. They provide affordable shopping for the community, funding for our humanitarian work, and support sustainability through recycling unwanted items.

Your tasks
Your volunteer role in a Red Cross Shop will include:
Unpacking and sorting goods.
Greeting and serving customers.
Restocking and merchandising the shop.
Volunteer requirements and training
We need friendly people with good communication skills and a can-do attitude. An eye for design is always a bonus.

You’ll receive on-the-job training, and we can help you get your Certificate in Retail from Service IQ. This programme is free and available to volunteers who have been with us for 3 months. It takes 6-9 months and can cover Level 2 to Level 4.

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫

What’s your go-to move for a bumper harvest? Drop your best "glut" recipes or preservation hacks in the comments below! 👇
