This year's bumper summer swarm of crickets could be set to repeat next year.
Large numbers of black field crickets have been encroaching on homes and gardens across the North Island, keeping residents awake with their chirping and hopping underfoot. Black field crickets are born normally born November when they generally spend time in the grass. But by peak summer in January, especially if its been a dry period, they move deep into ground cracks and only come out at night. IS YOUR HOME CURRENTLY INUNDATED WITH CRICKETS?

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
