Disability Parking

Selwyn from Glenholme

What is going on at Rotorua supermarkets?
Recently both Woolworths and Pak'n'Save have reduced the number of allocated disability parking spaces.
Woolworths: Took out 3 x spaces and installed bike racks iwhere they used to be.
Bike racks are for able bodied people and could have been installed elsewhere.
Pak'n'Save: Taken out 2 x spaces and redesignated them "normal parking".
What is wrong with these people?
Don't they realise disabled persons actually require more spaces not less, as many times the spaces are taken up with non-disabled people.
Recenlty a $700 fine was introduced by the government as a deterrent to illegal parking. So far, ony the local councils are enforcing this.
It's time the supermarkets used their security to do the same, and free up the parking for those who desperately need it.
It is hard enough with mobility issues to get close to the supermarkets without the extra burden now being place upon us.
PLEASE supermarkets - do something positive for your disabled customers.

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
