micro plastic in tea bags

Leonie from Foxton

After reading the article someone posted earlier on this subject, I went to Urban Myths to check it out, and found it is even worse than I thought. It is not only tea bags, but bottled water also contain them. Lots of articles, but this one I found the most informative.

Don has long been involved in the arts through music – he’s been in rock bands and participated in musical theatre for most of his life.

Ten years ago, Don started painting. First in acrylics and then in oils. His paintings are now hung in private collections around New Zealand.

Don’s current focus is the art of wood burning (pyrography). It’s an artform that excites him and one he wants to showcase as a true artform, not just a craft. Pyrography is normally created by burning soft woods, but Don’s love of the texture and grains of native woods has led him down a less traditional path. Don’s woodburning is typically done on reclaimed native timber which he cuts and shapes at the Feilding MenzShed before finishing and adding his own artwork at home.

Don is currently busy working on commissions for private and corporate clients. However, a selection of his woodburned charcuterie boards are available to buy now at Feilding Art Centre.

Like the rest of the world, we have been closely monitoring the terrible events unfolding in Ukraine and are in daily meetings with our staff to confirm their safety and well-being.

Our wonderful developers are facing a climate of unpredictability, we felt it was our responsibility to ensure you, our wonderful Neighbours were both aware and understanding that this environment may cause delays to the many projects we have in the works for 2022.

To show support of our brilliant team, we have temporarily changed our logo on our NZ Compare website. WHICH has also been recently refreshed and looking better than ever thanks to this very team! Go check it out!

For those who didn't get a chance to come along, you still have until April 19 to see the exhibition. Come along to see spoons in a way you never have before – as icons of domesticity, symbols of beauty, and objects of art.
