Wartime letters sought
In commemoration of Anzac Day, The Southland Times is looking for letters sent to or from loved ones during times of war. We know these letters will have been passed down through families and may be very significant to your families. These letters will remain with you, we will just take a copy which will be published as part of our Anzac Day coverage. 🎉 Exciting news for Southland! We’re getting a brand new museum – the Te Unua Museum of Southland!
⏳ The not-so-great news? It’s still a little way off. The Invercargill City Council has decided to wait until the museum is fully finished in late 2027 before opening, instead of opening parts early at extra cost.
We want to hear from you: Would it be worth investing more money to open the museum in stages, even if it costs more, or is waiting for the full experience the better option?
